A Special Invitation to Become a Practitioner in Breath Physiology Health and Well-Being

Introduce breath physiology and education into your consulting and clinical practice
Breath regulating fundamental acid base physiology is critical to good health and optimal performance. Knowledge is invariably restricted to the mechanics of breathing, such as the relaxation benefits of slow and diaphragmatic breathing, and does not include the underlying physiology and chemistry. This accounts for the most profound effects of learned breathing behaviour.

The course covers:

Exploration: factors that originate and sustain deregulated breathing chemistry

Identification: dysfunctional breathing patterns Phenomenology: the experience of breathing and its effects Knowledge-learning: understanding breathing concepts Mechanics-learning: teaching breathing as behaviour

Somatic-learning: the effects of good & bad breathing

State-learning: psychological changes, behavioural conditioning, awareness and consciousness

Presenter: Robert Kissner B.A. (Hons.) M.A. Ph.D. has advanced training in neuro and biofeedback and is a specialist in addictions, stress, and trauma. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He is a Director of the Canadian Institute on Applied Social Research and the Social Resilience Institute. He is CEO of LifeLogix Inc.,

Breath and Breath Evalution and Management

A.. Breathing Physiology (1.5 hours),

  • the relevance and significance of breathing in acid-base balance
  • the impact of deregulated chemistry on symptoms and deficits
  • the practical applications of physiology in breath work

B. Breathing Psychology (1 hour)

  • apply learning principles to breathing behavior
  • conceptualize behavioral origins of deregulated breathing
  • explore the psychological nature of breathing experience

C. Case Histories (1 hour),

  • basic learning principles to observed breathing behaviors
  • physiological principles to unexplained symptoms and deficits
  • educational principles to helping clients understand breathing

D. Breathing Evaluation (2.0 hours)

  • conduct a basic interview about breathing behavior
  • assess simple patterns of deregulated breathing
  • perform the basics of live capnography testing

E. Breathing Education (2.0 hours)

  • educate clients about breathing chemistry basics
  • teach simple breathing mechanics in concert with chemistry
  • coach breathing from a phenomenological perspective

* It was only recently become practical to measure carbon dioxide levels  with the development of the Capnotrainer®. The Capnotrainer® is a small, portable device that measures carbon dioxide levels and gives a visual display of these levels and the rate and regularity of breathing via a computer monitor.

LifeLogix Inc. offers two and three day breath certification training programmes professionals, one day professional and public workshops as well as half day or evening taster sessions. For current workshops or to indicate interest please email info@lifelogix.com .Workshops can be tailored to any particular professional or public group.  Please contact us if you would like to have Robert Kissner Ph.D.or another professional associated with LifeLogix speak or present a workshop at your venue. Workshops and public events can also be presented in support of professionals who purchase instruments as a way of demonstrating the effectiveness of this capnometry and increasing its professional application.
